The new two-storey kindergarten in Wil responds to its varied urban context by stepping its massing to echo the adjacent primary school and reduce the visual impact along Rossenstrasse. Timber construction expressed consistently inside and out supports a warm, domestic atmosphere and passive sustainability strategies, including solar-heated radiant slabs and cross-ventilation. Programmatically, the kindergarten and daily structure are distinct yet overlap at central shared spaces. Landscaped outdoor zones mediate age groups with subtle topography and planting, supporting ecological learning and play.
