The Vancouver Masonic Centre + Affordable Housing is a mixed-use redevelopment in Vancouver combining a new four-storey Masonic Centre with an 18-storey secured mixed-income rental housing tower. The project brings together community, ceremonial, and residential functions on a single site, with the 150-unit residential building providing a mix of market and non-market rental homes while preserving and replacing the Masonic Centre’s event, meeting, and ceremonial spaces. The architecture uses harmonic geometry and a paired-down formal language, embracing durability, utility, and beauty in a contemporary expression. Environmental design strategies include a naturally ventilated residential core to reduce mechanical needs, and the development is pursuing LEED Gold certification.
